Under Operation Prahar Phase-2, the Commissionerate Police Amritsar carried out a special search operation in the Housing Board Colony area of Ranjit Avenue. The drive focused particularly on verification of tenants residing in residential flats as part of enhanced security measures.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, IPS, as part of a statewide crackdown against gangsters and anti-social elements. Acting under the guidance of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, Amritsar Police intensified vigilance to maintain law and order and to ensure public safety.
The search operation was led by DCP Law and Order Alam Vijay Singh, along with ADCP City-2 S. Sirivennela, IPS, ACP North Gagandeep Singh, the SHO of Police Station Ranjit Avenue, and the SWAT team. Police personnel carried out thorough inspections in the area to prevent any unlawful activity and to create a secure environment for residents.
In addition to the search drive, strict day-and-night checkpoints have been set up at key internal and outer city locations. Vehicles are being checked thoroughly, and suspicious individuals are being questioned. Special action is being taken against vehicles with black films, unauthorized hooters, triple riding on two-wheelers, vehicles without number plates, and those carrying prohibited weapons. Challans are being issued wherever violations are found.
Commissionerate Police Amritsar has appealed to the public not to believe in rumors and to immediately inform the police if any unattended object or suspicious activity is noticed in their area. Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the life and property of citizens and maintaining a friendly approach toward law-abiding residents while taking strict legal action against anti-social elements.
