Panic spread in Jalandhar today after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead in a targeted attack. The incident took place right in front of a Gurudwara Sahib in the Model Town area, causing widespread fear among locals.
According to reports, Lucky Oberoi had just exited the Gurudwara after performing prayers when assailants lying in wait opened fire. Eyewitnesses said the attackers fired 8–10 rounds as Oberoi was about to enter his car. He was critically injured and died on the spot due to gunshot wounds. The gunfire created chaos in the area, leaving residents shocked and terrified.
Police officials reached the scene immediately with a heavy force and began securing the area. Forensic teams collected evidence while CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being examined to identify the perpetrators. Authorities have confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway from all angles.
This sensational killing has raised serious concerns over law and order in Punjab and political safety in the region. The police assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and that the culprits will be apprehended soon.
