They welcomed the India-US trade deal under President Trump and PM Modi—slashing US tariffs on Indian goods to 18%—and agreed on early mechanism meetings to unlock economic opportunities, energy security, and Quad multilateralism for a prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Visit Highlights

During his three-day US trip, Jaishankar also met Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on deepening economic ties. The talks precede today’s inaugural Critical Minerals Ministerial in DC, uniting 50+ nations to secure global supply chains. This reinforces democracies’ shared goals.
