Financial Boost
Prof. Sar chand Singh Khiala notes that tax devolution and grants totaling lakhs of crores have fueled Punjab’s progress. For FY 2026–27, ₹30,464 crore in tax shares is budgeted, with ₹10,576 crore grants in 2025–26. From 2014–2026, the state received ₹1.66 lakh crore in tax devolution and ₹1.32 lakh crore in grants.
Infrastructure Surge
Interest-free loans worth ₹6,157 crore (2020–21 to Jan 2026) aid capital projects. Over 4,264 km of national highways built by June 2025; five greenfield corridors (₹29,000 crore) and Bharatmala Phase-1 (1,764 km, ₹58,875 crore) underway. Punjab is 100% railway electrified, with Vande Bharat trains, 12 new projects (1,158 km, ₹19,843 crore), and 366 ROBs/RUBs since 2014.
Connectivity Gains
RCS-Udan activates airports in Bathinda, Ludhiana, Adampur, Pathankot; new Adampur terminal operational. Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (1,337 km Ludhiana-Sonnagar) boosts logistics. Smart Cities include Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana; NICDP spurs Rajpura-Patiala industry.
