SIT Formed to Probe 328 Sacred Swaroops Case; AIG Jagatpreet Singh Visits SGPC Office

In a push to advance the investigation into the serious case involving 328 sacred swaroops (holy scriptures), Punjab government-constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) head AIG Vigilance Jagatpreet Singh visited the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) head office today. The probe into this emotionally charged matter—deeply tied to Sikh sentiments—began here, drawing statewide attention.

Reports indicate a prior investigation was ongoing, but to ensure greater transparency and thoroughness, the SIT was formed. Upon arrival, officials began scrutinizing necessary documents and records to clarify every aspect of the case.

Following orders from Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, the SGPC is extending full cooperation to the police probe. SGPC Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan stated that Akal Takht Sahib’s directives are supreme, and the committee will comply fully.

He emphasized that actions are being taken strictly per Akal Takht’s commands. “The SIT arrived today, and our officials are present on site. We will provide complete cooperation wherever requested by police, so the truth emerges and an impartial investigation proceeds,” Mannan added.

The SGPC reiterated its commitment to handling this sensitive case with transparency and responsibility to maintain the trust of the Sikh sangat.
