Bomb Threat Emails Target Amritsar Schools Again, Stir Panic Over National Anthem

Several schools in Amritsar’s villages and city areas have received fresh bomb threat emails, creating an atmosphere of fear among school administrations, parents, and children. Sources indicate over 10 schools were targeted via email. This is not the first such incident—similar threatening emails have been received before, and police are investigating.

The latest emails contain provocative messages regarding India’s national anthem “Jana Gana Mana,” demanding that Punjab schools replace it with the lines “Deh Shiva Bar Mohe.” Taking these sensitive and inflammatory messages seriously, police and security agencies have gone on high alert.

On the matter, SSP Rural Suhail Mehar told the media that police received suspicious and threatening messages via email. He noted that a similar threat email had arrived previously, leading to a case registration and investigation. At that time, the technical cell had gathered full details on the email ID and threat source.

SSP Suhail Mehar stated that in this current case, a formal complaint will be filed, and legal action will be taken against those sending the emails. He added that anti-sabotage checks, physical verifications, and technical probes are underway to ensure school safety.

He clarified that past investigations revealed some students had sent fake emails to get holidays. However, this time the matter is not being taken lightly— a thorough probe is ongoing from all angles. The administration has appealed to parents and school managements to remain calm, assuring no lapses in security.
