Devotees Celebrate Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Gurpurab with Prayers, Nagar Kirtans and Seva

The birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is being observed today with great devotion and reverence across Punjab and in Sikh communities worldwide. Gurdwaras have been beautifully decorated, and large numbers of devotees are taking part in Akhand Paath, kirtan and ardas to mark the sacred occasion.

From the early hours, Sangat has been offering prayers, listening to Gurbani and participating in Langar, the traditional community kitchen that serves free meals to all regardless of caste, creed or background. Many cities and towns are also witnessing Nagar Kirtan processions, where the Guru Granth Sahib is carried with honour, accompanied by Panj Pyare, gatka exhibitions and devotional singing.

On this Gurpurab, Sikh preachers are reminding the community of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings of courage, sacrifice, equality and standing up against injustice. Special samagam are focusing on the formation of the Khalsa, the importance of the Five Kakaars and the message of lifelong commitment to truth and sewa. Across social and digital platforms, youth groups are running blood donation camps, charity drives and awareness programmes dedicated to the Guru’s legacy.
