Bhagat Kabir Jayanti Celebrated at Golden Temple Complex

Bhagat Kabir Jayanti Observed by SGPC in Amritsar

Amritsar (Rajesh Sandhu): The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) celebrated Bhagat Kabir Jayanti with devotion at the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar on Sunday. Devotees attended religious ceremonies throughout the day. They also listened to Gurbani Kirtan and reflected on the teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji.

Meanwhile, the SGPC also observed the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The committee organized a separate religious gathering at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib.

Religious Ceremony Marks Bhagat Kabir Jayanti

The SGPC organized a special religious function to celebrate Bhagat Kabir Jayanti at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, which is associated with Sri Harmandir Sahib.

The ceremony began with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.

Afterward, Hazuri Ragi Bhai Jagroop Singh’s Jatha performed Gurbani Kirtan. Bhai Prem Singh offered the Ardas, while Giani Balwinder Singh recited the Hukamnama from Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji Highlighted

Giani Balwinder Singh addressed the congregation during the event.

He explained the life and teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji. According to him, Bhagat Kabir Ji opposed social evils and encouraged people to remember the Almighty.

Furthermore, he said Bhagat Kabir Ji raised his voice against caste discrimination and inspired society to follow the path of truth, equality and righteousness.

He also urged devotees to draw inspiration from Bhagat Kabir Ji’s life and live according to Gurbani.

SGPC Observes Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Death Anniversary

The SGPC also observed the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib.

The organizers concluded the Sri Akhand Path Sahib with Bhog before holding a Gurmat Samagam.

During the programme, Head Preacher Bhai Jagdev Singh shared the life history and achievements of Maharaja Ranjit Singh with the congregation.

Dhadi and Kavishar Jathas Share History

Several Dhadi and Kavishar Jathas also participated in the religious gathering.

In addition, they narrated important historical events from the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and highlighted his contribution to Punjab and Sikh history.

SGPC officials, religious preachers and a large number of devotees attended the programme.
