Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The Tree Plantation Drive Amritsar gained momentum as Government ITI, Ranjit Avenue, organized a large-scale plantation campaign ahead of the pre-monsoon season. Students from the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) trade actively participated in the initiative. They planted saplings under the guidance of Trade In-charge Mandeep Singh. The campaign aimed to promote environmental conservation and encourage students to take responsibility for a greener future.
The institute also organized an SIR awareness programme alongside the plantation drive. Moreover, students prepared creative charts carrying impactful slogans to spread awareness about the campaign. They displayed these charts across the campus to encourage social participation.
Students Take the Lead in Environmental Conservation
The Tree Plantation Drive Amritsar witnessed enthusiastic participation from final-year RAC students. They planted several saplings across the institute campus. Furthermore, the activity highlighted the importance of increasing green cover before the arrival of the monsoon season.
Principal Engineer Sanjeev Kumar Sharma appreciated the students for their active participation. He said environmental protection is a shared responsibility. Therefore, every student should contribute towards building a cleaner and greener society.
SIR Awareness Session Held for Students
Along with the plantation campaign, the institute conducted a dedicated SIR awareness lecture. Experts explained the importance of public awareness and responsible citizenship. In addition, students presented attractive awareness charts carrying meaningful slogans.
The awareness session encouraged students to educate their families and communities. As a result, the programme combined environmental responsibility with social awareness.
Principal Urges Students to Protect Nature
Principal Sanjeev Kumar Sharma stressed that every tree plays a vital role in protecting the environment. Moreover, he said trees help secure a healthier future for the coming generations.
He also expressed concern over Punjab’s declining population. However, he urged students to understand the importance of population balance, education, and social responsibility. He added that society must act in time. Otherwise, future generations may face serious challenges.
The Principal encouraged students to spread positive awareness within their families and neighbourhoods. Similarly, he inspired them to become responsible citizens by supporting environmental and social causes.
Students Take Green Pledge
During the Tree Plantation Drive Amritsar, the Principal appealed to every student to plant at least one tree every year. He also urged them to care for the sapling until it grows into a healthy tree. Therefore, students pledged to make tree plantation a lifelong habit.
At the end of the programme, students and staff members jointly pledged to protect the environment and promote social awareness. Finally, they reaffirmed their commitment to working together for a greener, healthier, and brighter Punjab.
