Amritsar (Simran Santosh Rajput): A new development has emerged in the Caste Discrimination Case Punjab. The complainant has accused the opposing party of threatening a key eyewitness.

Rupinder Kaur, wife of Baldev Singh, belongs to Talwandi Bhindar village in Gurdaspur district. She alleged that the accused visited the home of a villager who agreed to testify in her favor.

According to Rupinder Kaur, the accused tried to pressure the witness. She claims they wanted to discourage him from giving evidence in the case.

Victim Approaches Scheduled Castes Commission

Rupinder Kaur said she already submitted a written complaint to the SHO of Ghuman Police Station. The complaint relates to alleged caste-based abuse and threats.

However, police have not registered an FIR so far, according to the complainant.

Furthermore, she emailed copies of her complaint to the SSP Batala and the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission. She specifically highlighted the alleged witness intimidation.

She believes the accused are trying to weaken her case. As a result, she has sought intervention from senior authorities.

Victim Fears for Family’s Safety

Rupinder Kaur also expressed concern about her family’s safety. She said the accused could target her or her family members at any time.

Moreover, she appealed to organizations working for Dalit rights to support her struggle. She alleged that some people are trying to suppress the caste-related complaint.

Therefore, she urged social organizations to meet the SSP Batala and help ensure a fair investigation.

Police Respond to the Allegations

Meanwhile, SHO Harjinder Singh of Ghuman Police Station confirmed that police received a complaint from Rupinder Kaur. The complaint names Balraj Singh Bajwa of Village Vila Bajju.

The SHO said investigators are examining the allegations. Additionally, police will try to resolve differences between both sides through counseling.

However, if both parties fail to reach an agreement, police will take action according to the law.

The Caste Discrimination Case Punjab has attracted attention because of the witness intimidation allegations.

Consequently, local activists and community groups continue to monitor the case closely.
