Punjab Women Honorarium Scheme Begins From July

Amritsar (Dwarka Nath Rana): Punjab Public Works Minister and Jandiala Guru MLA Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday interacted with residents during public meetings held in wards 1, 14 and 15 of Jandiala Guru. During the meetings, he listened to public grievances and highlighted several welfare initiatives launched by the Punjab Government. Speaking on the occasion, the minister announced that the Punjab Women Honorarium Scheme will be implemented from July. He said the Bhagwant Mann-led government is preparing to fulfill its final guarantee by providing monthly financial assistance to eligible women across the state.

General Category Women to Receive ₹1,000 Monthly

Harbhajan Singh ETO said women belonging to the general category who meet the eligibility criteria will receive an honorarium of ₹1,000 every month under the Punjab Women Honorarium Scheme.

Furthermore, women from the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1,500 per month. According to the minister, the initiative aims to provide financial support and strengthen the economic independence of women.

He added that the scheme reflects the Punjab Government’s commitment to women’s welfare and social empowerment.

Punjab Providing Free Healthcare Up to ₹10 Lakh

Highlighting another major initiative, Harbhajan Singh ETO said Punjab has become the first state in the country to offer free treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh annually to every citizen.

Moreover, he stated that the healthcare scheme has emerged as a blessing for the people of Punjab. Economically weaker families are now able to access quality medical treatment without worrying about expenses.

As a result, thousands of families have benefited from advanced healthcare facilities.

Free Electricity Scheme Brings Major Relief

The minister also emphasized the benefits of the free electricity scheme. He said Punjab residents have saved thousands of crores of rupees during the last four and a half years.

In addition, more than 90 percent of households are receiving zero electricity bills. Consequently, common citizens have experienced significant financial relief.

According to Harbhajan Singh ETO, these measures demonstrate the government’s focus on reducing the financial burden on ordinary families.

Government Focused on Welfare and Development

Referring once again to the Punjab Women Honorarium Scheme, the minister said the Punjab Government remains committed to public welfare and development.

He asserted that the government continues to work for the upliftment of every section of society. Therefore, various welfare policies and development projects are being implemented across the state.

Several local residents and dignitaries, including MC Aman Virk, Robin and Satinder Singh, attended the public meetings.

Punjab Strengthening Social Welfare Measures

The launch of the Punjab Women Honorarium Scheme marks another major welfare initiative by the Punjab Government.
