Dharamshala (Kameshwar Sharma): The Insurance Ombudsman Office, Chandigarh, organized a special grievance redressal camp in Dharamshala to help policyholders resolve insurance-related complaints quickly and efficiently. The initiative was conducted under the directions of the Insurance Ombudsman Chandigarh Council. The campaign aims to reach policyholders who have not received satisfactory resolutions from their insurance companies. It also seeks to increase public awareness about the role and services of the Insurance Ombudsman institution.

Special Camp Held Under Ombudsman Alka Jha

Under the guidance of Alka Jha, the Chandigarh Centre organized the special camp on June 15, 2026, in Dharamshala.

The primary objective of the camp was to bring grievance redressal services closer to policyholders. Therefore, officials conducted complaint hearings on-site and reviewed cases submitted by complainants.

After examining the complaints, the team worked to provide appropriate resolutions and guidance. Consequently, policyholders received assistance without having to travel to Chandigarh.

In addition, the Insurance Ombudsman Office set up a dedicated help desk to assist visitors. The help desk operated under the supervision of Sahil Sharma.

Officials informed policyholders about the complaint registration process, required documents, and the use of the online grievance portal.

Moreover, they explained that complainants can register their grievances online from home. They can also track the status of their complaints through the official portal.

Alka Jha informed attendees that the Chandigarh Insurance Ombudsman Centre serves a wide jurisdiction.

Its jurisdiction includes Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. It also covers most areas of Haryana, excluding Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, and Faridabad.

Therefore, policyholders from these regions can approach the Chandigarh Centre for assistance with insurance-related disputes.
