SIR Voter List Revision Drive Amritsar Punjab Update

Amritsar (Suraj Kamlesh): The Election Commission of India has launched the SIR Voter List Revision Drive Amritsar campaign in Punjab. This campaign improves the accuracy of voter lists and ensures that every eligible citizen gets included in the electoral roll.

Moreover, the Election Commission aims to remove errors and update voter data. As a result, the entire voter database will become more transparent and reliable.

BLO Training Camps in Amritsar

The district administration of Amritsar is actively organizing training camps for Booth Level Officers (BLOs). These camps follow Election Commission guidelines.

In addition, officials conduct training for BLOs from 15-Amritsar North, 16-Amritsar West, and 18-Amritsar East constituencies.

Furthermore, the administration will complete BLO training across all constituencies by 21 June. This step ensures smooth execution of the SIR process.

Strong Progress in Voter Mapping

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Amritsar, Dalwinderjit Singh, shared key updates on the campaign.

He said the administration is actively carrying out pre-SIR voter mapping across Punjab. In Amritsar district, officials have already mapped 17,51,918 voters out of 19,73,071 total voters.

Therefore, the mapping process has reached 88.79% completion. However, 2,21,153 voters still remain unmapped.

As a result, the district administration has launched a special drive to cover all remaining voters.

Door-to-Door Verification Drive

Under the revised Election Commission schedule, BLOs will visit every household between 25 June 2026 and 24 July 2026.

During this period, BLOs will collect voter details and complete enumeration forms. Moreover, they will verify each entry at the ground level.

In addition, officials will rationalize polling stations by 24 July 2026. This step improves election management and ensures better voter access.

Draft Voter List and Important Dates

The Election Commission has fixed a clear timeline for the revision process.

First, authorities will publish the draft voter list on 3 August 2026. Then, they will accept claims and objections from 3 August to 2 September 2026.

After that, officials will dispose of objections between 3 August and 28 September 2026. Finally, the Election Commission will release the final voter list on 1 October 2026.

Thus, the entire process follows a structured and transparent system.
