DC Apurva Devgan Conducts Surprise Inspection in Mandi

Mandi (Kameshwar Sharma): Mandi DC Apurva Devgan Conducts Surprise Inspection of Drang School to review educational activities, infrastructure and student welfare facilities. The Deputy Commissioner visited Government Senior Secondary School Drang under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s “Apna Vidyalaya Yojana” and assessed various aspects of the institution’s functioning.

Moreover, the initiative aims to improve the quality of education and strengthen infrastructure in government schools across the state. Under the scheme, district-level officers have adopted four schools each on the directions of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

DC Reviews Academic Activities and Library Facilities

During the visit, Apurva Devgan interacted with the school management and reviewed academic as well as co-curricular activities. He also inspected the school library and examined the books and educational resources available for students.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of the state government’s “Apna Pustakalaya Yojana,” as the government is establishing libraries across remote rural areas to improve access to educational resources. He stated that these libraries provide students with easy access to quality educational resources and study material under one roof.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the initiative is especially beneficial for students preparing for competitive examinations.

Focus on School Infrastructure Development

In addition, Devgan reviewed the school’s infrastructure and assessed the progress of ongoing development works. He directed concerned officials to expedite the construction of the examination hall to ensure improved facilities for students.

He also inspected the condition and cleanliness of school toilets and issued necessary instructions to maintain hygiene standards on the campus.

Mid-Day Meal Facilities Inspected

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Mid-Day Meal Scheme and evaluated the quality of meals provided to students.

Moreover, he inspected the kitchen, food storage arrangements, available grains and other ingredients used for meal preparation. He emphasized that the scheme plays a vital role in providing nutritious meals to schoolchildren.

Consequently, he instructed the school administration to regularly monitor food quality and nutritional standards to maintain the effectiveness of the programme.

Student Safety Discussed Amid Highway Expansion

Meanwhile, DC Apurva Devgan Conducts Surprise Inspection discussed measures to ensure safe and convenient transportation for students in light of the ongoing expansion of the Mandi-Jogindernagar National Highway.

He held discussions with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Block Development Office and the Revenue Department. Furthermore, he issued on-the-spot directions to improve accessibility and ensure the safety of students travelling to and from the school.
