Amritsar (Dawarka Nath Rana): The Heroin Module Busted Police Raid has led to a major breakthrough in Punjab’s ongoing anti-drug campaign. Moreover, the police have uncovered a cross-border narcotics network.
Under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Police intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking. As a result, Amritsar Commissionerate Police achieved a significant success.
The operation led to the arrest of six individuals, including two minors. In addition, authorities recovered 30.045 kilograms of heroin, marking one of the biggest seizures in recent months.
Details of Amritsar Drug Bust Operation
The Punjab Police carried out the operation based on intelligence inputs. Furthermore, the investigation linked the accused to a cross-border drug trafficking module.
According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the module was operating with support from a Dubai-based handler. Therefore, the network had international connections.
Police arrested four identified individuals along with two minors. Authorities identified the adult accused as residents of different areas in Amritsar.
Moreover, one of the accused already had a criminal record under the NDPS Act. This indicates repeated involvement in drug-related activities.
How the Drug Network Operated
Investigations revealed that the Heroin Module Busted Police Raid exposed a well-organized supply chain. The accused were receiving heroin consignments through border-linked routes.
In addition, they were in constant contact with a Dubai-based mastermind. This handler coordinated the entire supply chain remotely.
Therefore, the accused collected drug consignments from fixed locations. After that, they distributed them across Punjab using local transport, including motorcycles.
Police also seized a motorcycle used for drug transportation. Moreover, the accused used it to avoid detection during deliveries.
International Connection to Dubai-Based Handler
Officials confirmed that the main mastermind is currently based in Dubai. However, Indian authorities already want him in multiple NDPS cases.
These include earlier recoveries of 42 kg heroin and 10 kg ICE drugs. Therefore, he is considered a major international drug trafficker.
Furthermore, he allegedly targeted young individuals. He lured them with money and involved them in drug trafficking operations.
In addition, even minors were used in the network. This highlights the dangerous nature of the module.
Legal Action and FIR Details
Following the Heroin Module Busted Police Raid, a case has been registered at Cheharta Police Station. The FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
The case number is FIR No. 122 dated 03.06.2026. Moreover, further investigations are underway to identify additional links.
Police teams are now tracking financial transactions. Therefore, they aim to expose possible hawala networks and funding routes.
