Sri Amritsar Sahib (Suraj Kamlesh): The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has sent a jatha of 541 pilgrims to mark the Shaheedi Purab of the fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. The SGPC pilgrim jatha Shaheedi Yatra was flagged off from the SGPC office in Amritsar amid religious chants and slogans. The SGPC Sends 541 Pilgrims is being led by SGPC members Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan and Gurmeet Singh Booha. As a result, a large number of devotees gathered to see off the jatha with devotion and enthusiasm.
Religious Send-Off at SGPC Office
The jatha was formally flagged off from the SGPC office in Amritsar. Furthermore, senior officials from the Dharam Parchar Committee participated in the ceremony.
They honoured the jatha leaders with siropas. In addition, they extended best wishes for a safe and peaceful journey.
SGPC Sends 541 Pilgrims officials present included Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Private Secretary Shahbaz Singh, Additional Secretary Bijay Singh, Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Preetpal Singh, and Bhagwant Singh Dhangerha.
Pilgrimage Route Across Historic Gurdwaras
The SGPC pilgrim jatha Shaheedi Yatra will follow a detailed religious route across Pakistan. First, the group will visit Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Next, the jatha will proceed to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Sahib in Sheikhupura on June 11. After that, they will visit Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib on June 12.
Furthermore, on June 14, the pilgrims will reach Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib and Darbar Sahib Kartarpur for darshan.
On June 15, the jatha will visit Gurdwara Sri Rori Sahib in Eminabad. Later, they will reach Gurdwara Sri Dera Sahib Lahore.
Shaheedi Samagam at Dera Sahib Lahore
At Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore, the group will participate in the Shaheedi Samagam of Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Moreover, Sri Akhand Path Sahib will begin on June 16.
The main Shaheedi Purab ceremonies will take place on June 18. Consequently, devotees will pay tribute to the fifth Sikh Guru at his martyrdom site.
The jatha will return to India on June 19 after completing all religious programs.
SGPC Highlights Devotee Sentiment
Speaking on the occasion, SGPC member Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan said that Sikh devotees deeply wished to visit Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom site.
He added that the pilgrimage had not taken place for a long time. However, divine blessings made this journey possible this year.
Furthermore, he urged both governments to ensure that such pilgrimages are organized annually to respect Sikh sentiments.

Dharam Parchar Committee Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal shared the complete schedule of the pilgrimage.
He explained that the structured itinerary will help devotees complete darshan at major Sikh shrines. In addition, it ensures smooth coordination of religious ceremonies.
