Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Governor Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the two-day Rashmirathi Parv at the historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla. The event marks the Golden Jubilee year of the immortal literary work Rashmirathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
Governor Highlights Values of Equality and Patriotism
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kavinder Gupta said that Rashmirathi Parv is not only an occasion to remember a great poet but also an opportunity to embrace the values of harmony, equality, and patriotism.
He said that adopting these ideals and contributing to a strong and inclusive nation would be the true tribute to Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
Tribute to Great National Icons
During his speech, the Governor paid tribute to several national icons who shaped India’s consciousness. He mentioned Swami Vivekananda, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
According to him, all these leaders guided society in different ways. However, they shared a common vision of placing the nation, society, and humanity above everything else.
Youth Encouraged to Learn from Karna
The Governor also spoke about Karna, the central character of Rashmirathi. He said Karna’s life reflects the struggles and aspirations of every individual.
Furthermore, he urged young people to draw inspiration from Karna’s courage, patience, and determination.
He added that a true Rashmirathi is not someone who possesses everything. Instead, it is a person who defeats adversity through inner strength and determination.
Emphasis on Knowledge, Innovation and Culture
Kavinder Gupta said people are the charioteers of their own destiny. Therefore, they can achieve success through knowledge, hard work, and innovation.
At the same time, he encouraged the youth to take pride in their values, language, and culture.
He expressed confidence that the younger generation would adopt the timeless teachings found in Dinkar’s writings and contribute to India’s bright future.
Souvenir Released During the Event
On the occasion, the Governor released a commemorative publication titled “Rashmirathi Se Samvad”. He also watched a theatrical performance based on Rashmirathi.
Former Union Minister of State Ashwini Kumar Choubey attended the event as the chief guest. He congratulated the organizers for hosting a program dedicated to harmony, inclusiveness, and cultural enrichment.
Literary Personalities Attend the Programme
Earlier, Neeraj Kumar, President of the Ramdhari Singh Dinkar Smriti Nyas, welcomed the Governor and briefed the audience about the event. Renowned writer and theatre artist Mujeeb Khan shared his thoughts on Dinkar’s literary legacy.
Meanwhile, trust member Sandeep Shahi explained the significance of Rashmirathi Parv. Programme coordinator Narendra Sharma delivered the vote of thanks.
