Shimla Police Bust Interstate Drug Network, Arrest Key Supplier

Interstate Drug Network Uncovered in Shimla Heroin Case

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Shimla Police have uncovered an Interstate Drug Network during an investigation into a heroin trafficking case. The breakthrough came under the department’s special anti-drug campaign. As a result, police arrested several suspects and collected crucial evidence linked to the network.

Police Recover 30.35 Grams of Heroin

On May 22, 2026, the Baluganj Police Station team conducted a raid and seized 30.35 grams of chitta (heroin). During the operation, officers arrested four accused. The accused include Gurpreet Singh, Sandeep, Lakhvir Singh alias Gaggu, and Keval Singh alias Gagan. All four belong to Punjab.

Following the arrests, investigators expanded the probe to identify suppliers and other members of the network.

Digital Investigation Uncovers Major Links

Police examined bank transactions, call records, and WhatsApp chats. Through this investigation, officers uncovered a well-organized Interstate Drug Network operating across multiple states. The evidence linked the accused to Jaspreet Singh alias Jassi. He allegedly supplied narcotics to traffickers and coordinated drug distribution activities.

Consequently, investigators focused their efforts on tracing his role in the network.

Financial Records Strengthen the Case

Police found evidence of financial dealings between accused Sandeep and Jaspreet Singh. In addition, bank records revealed several transactions connected to the drug trade.

Investigators also discovered that Jaspreet Singh allegedly paid commissions to traffickers. Moreover, most deals reportedly took place in cash. Therefore, these findings helped police establish stronger links within the network.

Shimla Police Arrest Key Supplier

Based on the evidence collected, Shimla Police arrested Jaspreet Singh alias Jassi on June 2, 2026. He is 36 years old and belongs to Hoshiarpur district in Punjab.

After his arrest, police obtained his remand and continued questioning him about the network’s operations. Officials believe he played a significant role in supplying narcotics to traffickers. Furthermore, investigators are examining his connections with other suspects.

Accused Has Previous NDPS Cases

Investigators found that Jaspreet Singh had faced NDPS cases before. For instance, police booked him in 2024 in a case involving the recovery of 13.55 grams of chitta in West Shimla.

Similarly, authorities registered another case against him in Hoshiarpur district in 2021. That case involved the recovery of Buprenorphine, a controlled narcotic substance.

Investigation Continues

Police described the operation as a major success against drug trafficking. Overall, the action has weakened an important Interstate Drug Network operating in the region. Meanwhile, investigators are identifying other people connected to the racket. They plan to take strict legal action against everyone involved.

Ultimately, Shimla Police aim to dismantle drug networks and prevent the spread of illegal substances in Himachal Pradesh. For this reason, the department continues to intensify its anti-narcotics campaign across the state.
