PM Modi Reviews ₹30,000 Crore Projects at PRAGATI Meeting

PM Modi Chairs PRAGATI Meeting, Reviews Mega Projects

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 51st PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting and reviewed major infrastructure projects worth nearly ₹30,000 crore. Through the meeting, he focused on speeding up project execution, improving coordination between the Centre and states, and ensuring timely delivery of public services. During the PRAGATI Meeting at Seva Teerth, Prime Minister Modi examined seven key infrastructure projects across the railway, power, and road sectors. These projects span nine states and play a crucial role in strengthening India’s development agenda.

PM Modi Reviews Major Infrastructure Projects

At the PM Modi Chairs PRAGATI Meeting, the Prime Minister urged ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues quickly. He emphasized that delays increase project costs and prevent citizens from receiving essential services on time.

Therefore, he directed officials to complete projects within fixed timelines and maintain continuous monitoring at every stage.

Ken-Betwa Project Highlighted as a National Model

Prime Minister Modi also reviewed the Ken-Betwa River Interlinking Project in detail. He described the initiative as an example of how states can resolve water-related challenges through cooperation and mutual understanding.

Furthermore, he encouraged states to integrate river-linking projects with water conservation efforts, groundwater recharge programs, and modern irrigation systems. According to him, such measures can significantly improve long-term water security across the country.

Rooftop Solar Expansion Gets Fresh Push

The PM Modi Chairs PRAGATI Meeting also focused on renewable energy. Prime Minister Modi instructed officials to accelerate rooftop solar installations in cities, residential areas, and public institutions. Moreover, he highlighted the benefits of solar energy, including lower electricity costs, greater energy security, and reduced dependence on conventional energy sources.

In addition, he asked officials to examine opportunities for installing solar panels over canals and along canal banks to maximize clean energy production.

Wadhavan Port to Emerge as a Logistics Powerhouse

While discussing transport infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi stressed the need to develop Wadhavan Port as a world-class multi-modal logistics hub.

He proposed connecting the port with coastal shipping routes, inland waterways, freight corridors, highways, airports, and high-speed rail networks. Consequently, the project can improve cargo movement and strengthen India’s logistics ecosystem.

Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 Comes Under Review

Prime Minister Modi also assessed the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0. He stated that the mission must deliver visible improvements on the ground rather than focusing only on infrastructure creation.

Therefore, he directed states to speed up solid waste management projects, waste-processing facilities, and Gobardhan plants. He also urged officials to ensure efficient implementation so that urban sanitation services improve across the country.

Government Introduces New Monitoring Mechanism

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary informed participants about a new monthly review mechanism for social sector schemes.

The government introduced this system following the Prime Minister’s directions. As a result, authorities will monitor implementation more effectively and improve accountability across states.

Conclusion

The PM Modi Chairs PRAGATI Meeting reinforced the government’s commitment to faster infrastructure development, renewable energy expansion, water security, and efficient governance. Furthermore, the Prime Minister urged all stakeholders to work together and complete projects on schedule. Through stronger coordination and timely execution, these initiatives can deliver significant benefits to citizens and accelerate India’s growth journey.
