Amritsar (Yogesh Kumar): Amritsar Police Smash Global Drug Ring have achieved a significant success in their ongoing crackdown against narcotics by busting an international drug trafficking network. In a well-planned operation, police arrested two accused and recovered 10 kilograms of ICE (methamphetamine) along with 4 kilograms of heroin.
Senior police officials confirmed that the operation has exposed a wider global drug smuggling chain with links extending outside India.
Two Accused Arrested in Strategic Operation
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Mohit alias Bachi, resident of Jalandhar
- Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh, resident of Amritsar
Police intercepted both individuals while they were moving on a motorcycle based on specific intelligence inputs.
During the search operation, officers recovered a large quantity of synthetic drugs and heroin hidden in their possession.
Dubai-Based Network Behind Drug Supply
Investigations have revealed that the accused were working under a Dubai-based drug handler who controlled operations across Punjab and Delhi.
According to officials, Mohit had recently returned from Dubai after receiving training in drug trafficking activities. They assigned him responsibilities to transport and distribute narcotics across different regions.
How Police Tracked the Drug Syndicate
The operation was executed after receiving credible intelligence inputs. Amritsar Police laid a trap and successfully intercepted the suspects.
The coordinated action led to the recovery of:
- 10 kg ICE (Methamphetamine)
- 4 kg Heroin
Police said the syndicate was operating through a structured supply chain involving multiple local handlers.
Expanding Drug Network Under Scanner
Preliminary investigation suggests that the drug cartel was actively supplying narcotics in the Majha and Doaba regions of Punjab.
Authorities believe that several more individuals are connected to the network and further arrests are expected in the coming days.

Officials also confirmed that earlier arrests linked to the same Dubai-based handler resulted in the seizure of 7.6 kg heroin and drug money.
In another related case, close associates of the kingpin are already in custody in connection with a 42 kg heroin recovery case.
