Amritsar: The Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab Meeting was held in Amritsar during ongoing organizational elections. The meeting focused on restructuring the zonal core committee after completing village-level election processes in Zone Tangra.

Senior leaders, including state leader Sarwan Singh Pandher and district president Ranjit Singh Kler Bala, presided over the delegate session held in Village Bhangwan.

Core Committee Reconstituted Through Unanimous Decision

During the meeting, elected delegates from multiple villages participated in the zonal delegate session.

After detailed discussions, members unanimously reconstituted the zonal core committee.

New Zonal Leadership Announced

The newly formed 14-member committee includes:

  • Treasurer: Subedar Niranjan Singh Jabbowal
  • Senior Vice President: Baldev Singh Bhangu

Several other members from different villages were also included in the committee to strengthen organizational structure.

Strong Remarks on Trade Agreements

Addressing the gathering, leaders stated that the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab Meeting strongly opposed international trade agreements.

They claimed that the India–US free trade agreement could negatively impact farmers, laborers, and small traders.

Furthermore, they warned that such policies may weaken agriculture-based livelihoods and increase financial stress in rural communities.

Concerns Over Government Policies

Leaders criticized several central government policies, including electricity amendment bills, seed regulations, and labor codes.

They also raised concerns about changes in employment schemes like MGNREGA, claiming reduced rural job opportunities.

Moreover, they argued that financial burden is increasingly being shifted to state governments.

Demand for Compensation and Protest Support

The committee demanded compensation for losses suffered during ongoing protests at Shambhu and Khanauri borders.

They claimed that damaged goods and stolen materials caused losses worth approximately ₹3.77 crore.

The Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab Meeting urged the government to release immediate compensation.
