Mandi (Kameshwar Sharma): The Mandi Zila Parishad Elections gained momentum after officials completed the scrutiny of nomination papers across several wards in Mandi. Election authorities confirmed the verification process and found all nomination papers submitted by candidates valid.
The scrutiny process covered multiple wards under Mandi Sadar, Gohar, Karsog, Sarkaghat, and Dharampur subdivisions. As a result, political activity has increased significantly across the district ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections.
Scrutiny Completed in Mandi Sadar Wards
Rupindra Kaur stated that officials completed the scrutiny process for four Zila Parishad wards under Mandi Sadar subdivision. These wards include Syog, Katoula, Saryana, and Kotli.
A total of 20 nomination papers were examined during the scrutiny process. Officials found all nomination papers valid.
In Ward 7-Syog, Surendra, Girish Thakur, Rupendra, Dharampal, Shyamlal, Virendra Kumar, and Hem Singh submitted valid nominations. Similarly, candidates Sher Singh, Shubham Sharma, Munish Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Hari Singh, Prem Singh, and Sangeet Chauhan filed valid nominations from Ward 8-Katoula.
Moreover, candidates Labh Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Dharmendra Kumar, and Paras Ram from Ward 30-Saryana also cleared the scrutiny process successfully. In Ward 31-Kotli, Hem Lata and Champa Thakur filed valid nomination papers.
Officials also informed candidates that they can withdraw their nominations on May 14 and 15 between 11 AM and 3 PM.
Gohar Wards Record Valid Nominations
The Mandi Zila Parishad Elections also witnessed smooth scrutiny in Gohar subdivision. Devi Ram confirmed that all nomination papers filed for Basa, Majhothi, and Naun wards are valid.
In Ward 10-Basa, Bimla Devi and Padma Devi submitted valid nominations. Likewise, Tara Chand, Mahendra Kumar, Indra Dev, Leela Devi, Tej Singh, and Mahendra Kumar cleared scrutiny from Ward 11-Majhothi.
Ward 14-Naun witnessed strong competition. Candidates Tikam Singh, Narottam Singh, Chint Ram, Satya Prakash, Shashi Kant, Bahadur Singh, Prem Singh, and Shiv Lal submitted valid nomination papers.
Karsog Election Scrutiny Process Completed
In Karsog subdivision, election authorities completed the scrutiny process for all nomination papers filed for district council elections. Gaurav Mahajan confirmed that all 21 nomination papers were declared valid.
Candidates from four wards entered the electoral race under the Mandi Zila Parishad Elections.
Ward 15-Churag includes candidates Shakuntala Devi, Dulu Devi, Kalpana Chauhan, Bhagwati, and Leela Devi. Meanwhile, Ward 16-Lower Karsog includes Nirmala Chauhan, Chamelu Devi, Anita Devi, and Bhuvneshwari.
Similarly, Anita Kumari, Veepa Devi, Nom Lata, and Sumitra Devi filed nominations from Ward 17-Sarahan. Ward 18-Sawindhar recorded the highest participation with candidates Kulbhushan, Ram Lal, Lalit Kumar, Kewal Kumar, Gurubaksh Singh, Kamal Singh, Sohan Lal, and Levan Kumar.
Officials stated that all candidates successfully cleared the scrutiny process.
Sarkaghat Wards Witness Smooth Verification
The scrutiny process also concluded smoothly in Sarkaghat subdivision. Rajendra Gautam said that all 20 nomination papers filed for Kot, Bhambla, Thauna, and Nawahi wards were found valid.
Ward 27-Kot saw valid nominations from Lata Devi, Sushmita Devi, and Rachna Devi. Similarly, candidates Rinku, Rajkumari, Meera, Abhilasha Thakur, and Kalpana Devi submitted valid papers from Ward 28-Bhambla.
In Ward 29-Thauna, Anjani Devi, Laxmi Thakur, Anita Devi, Rajni Devi, Meena, and Kalpana Kumari cleared scrutiny. Furthermore, Shyam Lal, Sarsa Devi, Vijay Kumar, Raman Kumar, Parveen Kumari, and Rajendra Suryavanshi filed valid nominations from Ward 33-Nawahi.
Dharampur Wards Also Clear Scrutiny
The Mandi Zila Parishad Elections continued smoothly in Dharampur subdivision as well. Joginder Patyal confirmed that all nominations filed for Sari, Tihra, and Sohar wards were declared valid.
Ward 31-Sari includes candidates Sapna Devi, Rita Kumari, Reena Kumari, and Ajay Kumari. Likewise, Anita Wala, Ranjita Kumari, Vandana Guleria, and Anita Kumari filed valid nominations from Ward 34-Tihra.
In Ward 35-Sohar, candidates Anjana Kumari, Sharmila, Vimla Devi, and Ramesha Devi also cleared the scrutiny process successfully.
