Amritsar (Yogesh Kumar): Under the directions of Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Amritsar Police conducted a major Amritsar Traffic Encroachment Drive in several busy market areas of the city.

Amandeep Kaur led the operation along with zonal officers and teams from the municipal corporation department. The campaign focused on removing illegal encroachments from roads and footpaths while improving traffic movement.

Illegal Encroachments Removed From Busy Markets

Police and municipal teams cleared unauthorized occupations created by shopkeepers and street vendors in several crowded areas.

The drive covered Ram Bagh Chowk, Bhrawan Da Dhaba, Sultanwind, Shaheedan Sahib, Maha Singh Gate, Tyre Market, Hall Gate, Liberty Market, Putlighar, and the UT Market area.

Officials removed illegal structures and roadside obstacles that caused traffic congestion and inconvenience for commuters.

The Amritsar Traffic Encroachment Drive aimed to improve road safety and ensure smooth movement of vehicles in commercial areas.

Police Crack Down on Traffic Violations

Apart from removing encroachments, zonal police officers also set up checkpoints at different locations in the city.

Police issued challans against drivers for several traffic violations, including black films on vehicle windows, riding without helmets, and modified Bullet motorcycle silencers causing loud noise.

Officials said strict action would continue against traffic rule violators to improve public safety on city roads.
