MP Gurjit Singh Aujla Meets Youth Deported from Malaysia at Amritsar Airport, Demands Strong Action from Centre

Amritsar – Congress MP from Amritsar, Gurjit Singh Aujla, has expressed deep concern and strong objection over the alleged mistreatment of Indian youths deported from Malaysia. He said that while returning from Delhi, he met these youths at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, where they narrated their ordeal after being forcibly sent back from Malaysia.

According to MP Aujla, these youths had gone to Malaysia on tourist and employment visas, but were subjected to extremely insulting and inhuman treatment by airport and government officials there. Some of them also complained of physical and mental harassment. He stated that it is highly serious and worrying that Punjabi youths are being particularly targeted in such incidents.

Aujla strongly condemned the conduct of the Malaysian authorities, saying that such behaviour towards any Indian citizen on foreign soil is completely unacceptable. He added that this issue is not limited to the personal suffering of a few youths, but is linked to the dignity, honour, and security of Indian citizens at the international level.

The MP said that after listening to the complaints of the affected youths, the matter will be brought to the notice of Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the earliest. He also plans to speak immediately with the Indian Embassy in Malaysia so that such humiliation of Indian citizens is not repeated in future.

Linking the incident to social harmony, Aujla said that attempts to divide Punjab on caste, religion, and class lines, along with inflammatory videos and hate being spread on social media, are now having consequences at the international level, which innocent people are being forced to bear. He remarked that this divisive mindset began from Punjab itself, and now ordinary youths are paying the price.

He clearly stated that dividing society on the basis of caste and religion is neither part of Indian culture nor tradition. He affirmed that he stands firmly for the respect, safety, and rights of the youth of the country, and urged the government to take strict steps on this issue. Ensuring that Indian citizens feel safe and respected abroad, he stressed, must remain a primary responsibility of the nation.
