Shimla MLA Crossing RCC Danga Work Raises Safety Concerns

Shimla MLA Crossing RCC Danga Work Sparks Safety Alert

Shimla (Kameshwar Sharma): Shimla: Concerns are growing over the RCC danga work at MLA Crossing in Baluganj, Shimla. Social worker Nagendra Gupta has raised serious issues. He has also urged authorities to act quickly.

Moreover, he warned about possible accidents in the future. He said the current design is unsafe for heavy traffic movement.

Social Worker Flags Key Road Design Issues

Nagendra Gupta submitted a detailed complaint to senior officials. He wrote to the District Commissioner, SP Shimla, ADM (Law and Order), DSP Traffic, and PWD officials.

In addition, he pointed out weak coordination between departments. According to him, this lack of coordination often creates traffic problems.

Furthermore, he said that faulty road design increases accident risks. He stressed that better planning can prevent such issues.

RCC Danga Work: Long Experience in Public Safety Work

Gupta has worked on road safety issues for 25 to 30 years. He continues this work even after his retirement in 2018.

Also, he has identified several accident-prone black spots in Shimla. Authorities fixed many of these spots after his suggestions.

As a result, several potential accidents were avoided.

Inspection Highlights Serious Risk at Curve

Gupta recently visited the MLA Crossing site. He inspected the ongoing RCC danga construction.

Gupta found that the curve is too sharp. He also noticed that the road width is not enough.

Moreover, he pointed out that heavy traffic already uses this route. For example, buses and trucks pass through regularly.

Therefore, the risk of accidents increases at this point.

Proposal to Improve Road Safety

Gupta suggested shifting the danga alignment. He recommended a safer alternative location.

In addition, he said this change will widen the curve. It will also improve traffic flow.

He added that parked HRTC buses make the situation worse. As a result, congestion increases during peak hours.

Importantly, DSP Traffic Chandrashekhar also inspected the site. He supported the need for review in public interest.

Appeal for Urgent Government Action

Gupta urged the administration to act without delay. He asked officials to inspect the site again.

Then, he requested them to issue corrective instructions. He also stressed public safety as the top priority.

Finally, he said that timely action can prevent accidents. It can also ensure smooth traffic movement in the area.
