BJP Attacks Congress in Sirmaur Election Rally

BJP Attacks Congress Over Debt & Development Issues

Nahan (Kameshwar sharma): BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp political BJP attacks Congress government during the Zila Parishad election nomination process in Nahan. He criticized the state government over financial mismanagement, halted development, and closure of public institutions while addressing party workers and supporters.

BJP Announces Support for Zila Parishad Candidates

Dr. Rajeev Bindal stated that BJP-supported candidates from Trilokpur ward and Renuka-Dadahu ward have filed their nominations. He named former BJP Mahila Morcha president and ex-BDC member Promila Sharma from Trilokpur ward and Shivani from Renuka-Dadahu ward as strong contenders.

He expressed confidence that both candidates would win with a huge margin and strengthen the voice of the region in the Zila Parishad.

BJP Accuses Congress Government of Financial Crisis

Dr. Bindal strongly criticized the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, alleging that Himachal Pradesh is facing a severe financial crisis. He claimed that development work has stalled over the last three years while government expenses continue to rise.

He further alleged that the government is prioritizing close associates instead of focusing on public welfare and development.

Allegations of Rising Debt and Stalled Development

According to Dr. Bindal, the Congress government has taken loans worth around ₹45,000 crore in three years and continues to borrow more funds. He added that another ₹1,500 crore loan is reportedly being planned.

He stated that most development projects visible in the state are funded by the central government under schemes like PMGSY, CRF, and national highway projects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, while state-funded development has come to a standstill.

Closure of Institutions Sparks Political Debate

Dr. Bindal also alleged that more than 100 institutions have been closed in Sirmaur district under the Congress government, including schools, hospitals, patwar circles, tehsils, sub-tehsils, PWD, and IPH offices.

He said that the previous BJP government had expanded public services in rural areas by opening schools, colleges, hospitals, and administrative offices to improve accessibility.

BJP Attacks Congress: BJP Claims Further School Closures Planned

He further warned that reports suggest plans to shut down around 100 more schools in the state. He said that if the government’s only agenda is closure of institutions, then it has lost the right to govern.

However, he added that the public will respond through democratic means in upcoming Panchayat and Zila Parishad elections.

Elections as a Verdict on Government Performance

Dr. Bindal stated that these elections are not just local body polls but a public referendum against the Congress government’s policies, financial mismanagement, and anti-development approach.
