Amritsar (Suraj kamlesh): A special Red Cross First Aid Training Amritsar session was organized at the Red Cross Bhawan, where B.Sc Nursing students from Guru Ramdas Medical College, Vallah, participated in practical learning activities.
The students visited the center to understand the humanitarian work carried out by the Red Cross Society and gain hands-on knowledge of emergency medical support.
DC Emphasizes Importance of First Aid Skills
During the Red Cross First Aid Training Amritsar, Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of Red Cross Society Amritsar, Dalwinderjit Singh, addressed the students.
He said that first aid training is essential in today’s time to handle emergency situations and provide immediate help to the injured. He encouraged students to make full use of such training programs.
They also stated that the Red Cross Society operates an active trained team and ambulance service dedicated to emergency response and humanitarian assistance.
Red Cross Highlights Global Humanitarian Work
At the Red Cross First Aid Training Amritsar, Executive Secretary Samson Masih informed students about the history and global presence of the Red Cross.
He explained that the organization works in 193 countries worldwide with a mission of humanitarian service. He also shared that more than 1100 branches are active in India.
Samson announced that World Red Cross Day, dedicated to Henry Dunant, will be observed on May 8, 2026.
