Traffic Halt on Atal Tunnel–Sissu Road for President’s Lahaul Visit

Lahaul-Spiti (Kameshwar Sharma): The district administration of Lahaul-Spiti has issued important orders regarding security and traffic arrangements in view of the proposed visit of the Hon’ble President of India.

According to the administration, the entire stretch from the North Portal of Atal Tunnel to Sissu will remain completely closed for all types of movement on April 29, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During this period, neither vehicular traffic nor pedestrian movement will be allowed. Only vehicles and officials with valid passes issued by competent authorities will be permitted to pass through.

The administration has urged local residents and tourists planning to visit the area to avoid unnecessary travel during the restricted hours and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the police and authorities. People have also been advised not to attempt crossing barricades, checkpoints, or security arrangements set up for the visit.

Officials emphasized that citizens should rely only on official information and avoid believing or spreading rumors. The district administration clarified that essential services will continue without disruption, and special arrangements have been made to ensure their smooth functioning.
