BJP to Contest Punjab Elections Alone, Rules Out Alliance with Akali Dal

BJP to Contest Punjab Polls Alone, No Akali Alliance

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a major political announcement regarding Punjab elections, confirming that it will contest independently in the state.

Punjab BJP President Nitin Nabin stated in an exclusive interview that the party will fight elections in Punjab on its own strength, ruling out any possibility of alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal.

He said, “We will contest elections in Punjab completely on our own—100 percent.” He further asserted that the BJP is expanding its organisational strength in the state and is preparing to enter the electoral battlefield with renewed energy.

Nitin Nabin also launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stating that the party would eventually collapse due to its own governance failures.

He added that the BJP has always stood with Punjab on key issues and is committed to winning the trust of the people. According to him, the political landscape of Punjab is expected to witness major changes in the coming years.

Reiterating the party’s stance, he said that there will be no alliance with the Akali Dal, and BJP will go solo in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He described the decision as a strategic step that reflects the party’s confidence in its organisational strength.

Nabin also claimed that although Punjab has historically posed challenges for the BJP, the party has consistently worked to build trust among the people. He expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge in a “new and stronger avatar” in the upcoming elections.
