Amritsar: In a major step towards improving urban cleanliness and solid waste management, the Amritsar Municipal Corporation has strengthened its monitoring system by deploying a dedicated team of ex-servicemen through PESCO.
The special team, led by Squadron Leader Davinder Kaur (Retd.), Deputy General Manager, is actively supervising sanitation operations across the city. These ex-servicemen are diligently monitoring road cleanliness, garbage disposal, waste accumulation, damaged roads, and other issues related to solid waste management.
Recognizing the team’s outstanding performance over the past few months, the Punjab Government and PMIDC have introduced a new digital initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission to further enhance efficiency and transparency.
As part of this initiative, Naintech Company has provided advanced AI-enabled devices to all supervisors. These devices aim to streamline reporting processes and ensure real-time monitoring of sanitation activities.
All supervisors in the team are ex-servicemen who continue to serve with a strong sense of discipline and dedication. The AI devices were distributed in Amritsar by Naintech representative Mr. Dipin under the leadership of Squadron Leader Davinder Kaur. The devices have been installed on two-wheelers used by supervisors during field duties.
With this digital upgrade, the team working under PMIDC will now be able to perform their duties more effectively. The AI-enabled system will significantly strengthen ground-level monitoring. Earlier, supervisors manually captured and uploaded photos of complaints, but now these devices will automatically record videos and send real-time updates directly to the administration.
Under this new system, issues such as garbage accumulation, broken roads, dead animals on streets, and other civic problems will be reported automatically, ensuring quicker resolution and improved transparency.
This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in making Amritsar a cleaner, more organized, and citizen-friendly city.
