In a major breakthrough, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police has exposed a Pakistan ISI-backed cross-border terror module operating in the region.
In a coordinated operation, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar and SSOC Mohali arrested one accused and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including four hand grenades and two foreign-made pistols.
According to preliminary investigations, the arrested individual was acting on the instructions of foreign-based handlers. Officials suspect his involvement in a recent grenade attack-linked terror module in Chandigarh.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to identify, track, and apprehend other members of the network.
Punjab Police stated that the operation reflects their continued commitment to dismantling organized crime networks and ensuring public safety across the state.
