Shimla: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, a grand and inspiring program was organized at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Shimla under the aegis of Mera Yuva Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The objective of the event was to spread awareness among youth about Babasaheb’s ideals of equality, social justice, education, and constitutional values.
The program was graced by Vice Principal Sanjesh Kumar Sharma as the chief guest. Around 180 young participants took part enthusiastically. The event began with a formal welcome, where the chief guest was honored with a memento by Mera Yuva Bharat, Shimla.
A speech competition was organized as part of the event, where participants expressed their views on the life, struggles, and contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, especially highlighting the importance of the Indian Constitution and his role in promoting social harmony. Speakers emphasized that Babasaheb considered education as the most powerful tool for empowerment and dedicated his life to the upliftment of marginalized communities.
In the competition, Himani secured the first position, Sahil stood second, and Priya secured the third place.
Following this, an awareness rally was taken out from the institute campus to Chowda Maidan. Through the rally, participants spread the message of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals—“Educate, Organize, Agitate.”
At Chowda Maidan, participants paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar, expressing deep respect and gratitude.
Speakers during the event stated that Dr. Ambedkar’s life is not just an inspiration but a guiding force for building a society based on equality, justice, and human rights. They urged youth to adopt his ideals and actively contribute towards building a strong and inclusive India.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants and organizers.
