A serious case of alleged misconduct and physical assault by a doctor on a patient has surfaced at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla, the state’s largest health facility.
Incident Details
Arjun Parmar, a teacher from Kufri area at a reputed Shimla institution, arrived for endoscopy. Post-procedure, advised to rest on an empty ward bed, he was reportedly abused and assaulted by another doctor while semi-conscious, despite attendants citing instructions.
Public Fury
Local residents and family expressed outrage, calling the behavior against medical ethics and damaging the hospital’s reputation. They demand immediate dismissal of the accused doctor and a fair probe from Himachal Pradesh government and IGMC administration.
Protest Erupts
Upon hearing, crowds gathered outside the MS office at IGMC, raising slogans for strict action against the errant doctor.
