Baisakhi 2026 Khalsa Sajna Diwas Celebrated in Punjab

Amritsar: On the occasion of Baisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Diwas, a large number of devotees gathered at gurdwaras across Punjab, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion and spiritual enthusiasm.

In Amritsar, huge crowds of devotees were seen offering prayers and seeking blessings. Many shared that it had been their long-standing wish to visit the gurdwara on this auspicious day. One devotee expressed gratitude, saying they felt fortunate to be able to visit after recovering their health through the Guru’s blessings.

Remembering Sikh History and Sacrifices

Devotees paid tribute to the sacrifices of Sikh martyrs and emphasized that their legacy forms the identity of the Sikh community. They urged people to follow the path shown by the martyrs and remain connected to Sikh values.

A special message was also given to the younger generation, encouraging them to stay away from drugs and lead a disciplined and spiritual life.

Focus on Youth and Sikh Values

Members of the sangat stressed the importance of connecting children with Sikhism. They appealed to parents to bring their children to gurdwaras and educate them about Sikh history and traditions.

Concerns were also raised that many youngsters are gradually losing touch with their roots, highlighting the need to spread awareness about the significance of the Khalsa Panth.

Historical Significance of the Day

The day marks the historic moment in 1699 when Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth at Anandpur Sahib by initiating the Panj Pyare, instilling courage, unity, and a strong identity within the Sikh community.

Special Celebrations and Events

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is set to organize Deepmala (lighting of lamps) and fireworks in the evening as part of the celebrations.

CM Bhagwant Mann’s Sister Visits Gurdwara

On this occasion, the sister of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also visited a gurdwara to pay her respects. Due to security arrangements, she maintained distance from the media and did not respond to any questions.

Devotees extended warm greetings on Baisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Diwas, urging everyone to stay connected with the teachings of Waheguru.
