22-Year-Old Punjabi Youth Deported from Canada Amid Extortion Probe

Punjabi Youth Deported from Canada in Extortion Case

A 22-year-old Punjabi youth from Surrey, Canada, has been deported to India amid an ongoing extortion investigation. Authorities have released his photograph and appealed to the public for assistance, signaling a tougher crackdown on organized extortion networks operating in the country.

According to Canadian law enforcement agencies, the youth was identified as a suspect in cases related to forced extortion. The matter was subsequently referred to immigration authorities, following which the Canada Border Services Agency took action and deported him to India.

Police stated that releasing the suspect’s photo aims to reach potential victims and witnesses, as well as identify other individuals linked to the network.

In recent years, concerns have grown over the alleged involvement of some foreign-based youths in organized crime, including extortion activities. Investigating agencies believe such networks are expanding rapidly through social media platforms and international connections.

Security agencies are also closely monitoring alleged coordination between Punjab-based gangster groups and their overseas handlers. Experts suggest that greed, fear tactics, and the misuse of social media are increasingly being used to lure young individuals abroad into illegal activities.

Police have urged the public to share any information related to the accused or his associates with the relevant authorities, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
