PM Surya Yojana Training at Amritsar ITIs

Under the directions of the Punjab Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, a major milestone has been achieved under the government’s flagship PM Surya Yojana, aimed at promoting solar energy and renewable sector skills.

Students from Government ITI Ranjit Avenue and Dayanand ITI (Electrician and Wireman trades) successfully completed a skill training program in collaboration with training partner Shakti Power Solution.

The primary objective of the PM Surya Yojana is to promote solar energy adoption while preparing technically skilled youth in the renewable energy sector, thereby expanding employment and self-employment opportunities.

Under the program, a total of 150 students registered, out of which 115 students have successfully passed out, while the remaining candidates are currently undergoing training.

Certificates were distributed during a ceremony marking the completion of the sixth batch. The event was attended by Principal Engg. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Training Officer Barinderjit Singh, and other staff members. The program was coordinated by Kamalkant and Sukhdev Singh (Training Officers), while the training sessions were conducted by Jugraj Singh, Electrician Instructor.

Principal Engg. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma stated that the institute remains committed to providing employment-oriented and modern technical education to students. He added that the institution will continue to effectively implement development-focused government schemes in the future.

New admissions at Government ITI Ranjit Avenue will open soon. Interested candidates can contact the Principal for further information. Several new-age courses, expected to have high demand in the coming years, will also be introduced.

The initiative highlights Punjab’s growing focus on renewable energy skill development and strengthening youth employability in the green energy sector.
